Positive Choices
2026 Primary School & Yr 7 & 8 Term 4 Basketball Competition
9 October - 27 November
The Toowoomba Basketball Association Primary School /Yr 7&8 Basketball Competition provides local primary school students with an organised, safe and inclusive opportunity to participate in school-based basketball.

The competition also aims to strengthen relationships between TBA and local schools, develop basketball skills, support the recruitment and development of officials, and promote positive behaviour through the Positive Choice Programme.

Competition Dates
The 2026 Primary/Yr 7/8 School Basketball Competition will operate from:
​
Friday 9 October 2026 to Friday 27th November 2026.
Games will be scheduled during this period in accordance with the final competition structure, court availability and the number of teams nominated.
Team Nominations
All team nominations must be submitted to Toowoomba Basketball Association by Wednesday 16 September 2026.
​
Late nominations may only be accepted where:
-
space is available within the relevant division;
-
the competition draw has not been finalised; and
-
accepting the nomination does not disadvantage teams already entered.
Submission of a nomination does not automatically guarantee acceptance into a particular division.

TBA may grade or reorganise teams to provide an appropriate and balanced competition.

The official competition draw will be published through Basketball Connect. Basketball Connect information and app can be found at:

Schools, coaches, team managers and families are responsible for regularly checking Basketball Connect for:
-
game times;
-
court allocations;
-
fixture changes;
-
results; and
-
competition notices.
Where a fixture is changed, TBA will endeavour to provide reasonable notice. Basketball Connect will remain the official source of competition fixture information.

Teams must check Basketball Connect before each game to confirm the correct venue and court.
Game Format
Each game will consist of:
-
four 8-minute quarters;
-
a 1-minute break at quarter time;
-
a 2-minute half-time break; and
-
a 1-minute break at three-quarter time.
